The mission of NH School of Applied Learning is to establish and cultivate a Middle School learning community which challenges traditional assumptions about the educational process by:

  • Involving students in powerful learning experiences that include applied learning projects and community service

Infant/Toddler Assistant (3-36 months)

DESCRIPTION:  Southern NH Montessori Academy is looking for an Infant/Toddler Assistant (3 – 36 months) in our private independent school for the 2018-19  school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Montessori early childhood credential required (AMS and/or AMI)
  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Understanding of and commitment to multi-age learning environments and Montessori philosophy
  • Experience with differentiating instruction to meet the needs of each child
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance curriculum and community
  • Excellent communication skills with parents

Early Childhood Lead Teacher (3-6 years)

DESCRIPTION:  Southern NH Montessori Academy is looking for an experienced Lead Montessori teacher for our Early Childhood  classroom (ages 3-6) in our private independent school beginning in late August 2018.

Early Childhood Assistant Teacher (3-6 years)

DESCRIPTION:  Southern NH Montessori Academy is looking for an experienced assistant teacher for our multi-age Early Childhood/Children’s House classroom (ages 3-6) in our private independent school beginning in late August 2017.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Ability to work collaboratively in a team in a fun environment and uphold the Montessori philosophy as a teacher and a co-worker.  Must be energetic, dependable, and a member of our school community.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Montessori Early Childhood credential preferred (AMS and/or AMI)
  • Montessori Assistant Training minimum
  • Understanding of and commitment to multi-age learning environments

Middle School Lead Teacher (7th & 8th grade)

DESCRIPTION:  NH School of Applied Learning is looking for an experienced Lead teacher for our Middle School classroom (grades 7-8) in our private independent school beginning in late August 2018.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Elementary/ Middle School certification required
  • Understanding of and commitment to multi-age learning environments
  • Understanding of and familiarity with Project Based Learning,  Self  Directed work time, and Student Led Conferences
  • Ability to teach literature, language, critical and creative writing, American and World history, cultural studies, geography, current events, science, math, and technology
  • Experience with individualized instruction to meet the needs of each child

Assistant to Head of School

The ultimate responsibility of this position is to ensure parents have a remarkable experience at our school, surpassing their expectations.

The Assistant to Head of School reports directly to the Head of School.  This position provides support to teachers and contributes to a positive and professional environment. They are responsible for executing processes and procedures that ensure the overall operations of the school are functioning smoothly. The Assistant to Head of School may step in for the Head of School or Admissions Director as needed. This is a salaried position and employees are expected to commit to the hours necessary to successfully execute the responsibilities of the role.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Middle School, Montessori, or related field is required
  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Montessori certified by an accredited Montessori training program
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Knowledge and experience to counsel parents, teachers, and children
  • Ability to navigate difficult conversations leading to effective conflict resolution
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities include:

  • Positively represent the school by always demonstrating our ideals of excellence in Montessori, respect, and honoring the children by always doing what is in their best interests.
  • Provide support and work with school staff to ensure SNHEC  ideals are implemented consistently throughout the school.

  • Managing general day-to-day operations for the school
  • Work with the whole school staff to reinforce consistent and clear messages to families.
  • Identify opportunities and examine issues facing the school, teachers, children, or families and create solutions to address the issues.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are implemented consistently and according to SNHEC standards.
  • Building community with prospective families
  • Identify and address difficult situations within the school community with the Head of School to help ensure a successful outcome.
  • Act as a school liaison to the SNHEC Community.
  • Work with the Head of School to identify training needs throughout the school staff and be a resource to provide appropriate training and support.
